I hope you’ve got a better idea of the Shared server and Cloud server. AWS Lightsail is a VPS. AWS Lightsail version helps you to create a direct instance.
What is instance:
AWS Lightsail instance is a VPS that is also known as AWS cloud. AWS Lightsail is designed to manage the VPS server which is an SSD based storage, easily manages the DNS management and static IP. AWS Lightsail is less cost and the cost is approximately the same as shared server.
Let’s get start. Today we’ll learn about creating a Static IP and learn how to create WordPress instance and migrate the WordPress site from shared server to AWS Lightsail.
This is the 2nd part of the Blog:
Let’s Get into AWS Lightsail:
Signup/Login to Amazon AWS. Set up your AWS account with some simple steps. Add your credit card details, information to your account.

You are in AWS Management Console. Search Lightsail and tap on Lightsail.

Tap on create the instance.

Select your region or instance location

Pick your OS platform (Linux, Microsoft). If you want a direct WordPress installation tap on “Linux“

Select a blueprint, Which instance you want to install to your server. Click on WordPress. You can check the version of WordPress also. Currently, it was showing 5.4.2 WordPress version.

Choose your instance plan according to your need. I am going with a $3.5 USD plan which provides me 512 MB ram 20 GB SSD with 1 TB transfer rate.

Remember you can choose your plan according to your need. Basically most Blogger goes with $5 USD (380 INR).
- Name your WordPress Instance. Give a name like your blog site or your name. Tap on “Create Instance”
Note: Name does not appear on the web

2nd Part:
Congrats! The WordPress instance is created and let’s go for the 2nd process. Create an IP address for your blog.
Return back to the Home and click on Networking

Click on create static IP.

Remember you need an instance to link with the IP.
Name your Static IP and tap on Create. AWS provides you a static IP address. After successfully attach your IP address, you will get this type of screen.

Copy your public IP address and open a new window and paste it.

You are now in the WordPress Dashboard.

Note: Keep in mind we’ve not connected our domain to the IP address still now. So our new website is open only with the IP address. In my case, the IP address is 15.207.253.245
To open the WordPress dashboard-type 15.207.253.245/wp-admin

Note: You need the Username and Password to get inside WordPress dashboard.
Bitnami provides you the default user name and password. Username is “user” and to know about the Password of your WordPress dashboard, you’ll follow these steps.
Go back to the AWS console page. Click your WordPress Instance you’ve created and you are redirected to the SSH page. Tap on “Connecting using SSH“. You’ll redirect to the WordPress Terminal page.

Note: The terminal page is in Linux format.
To know about the password of your blog, you will add a Linux command line.
“cat bitnami_application_password“

That’s it. The Password is here. Copy your password and paste it to the WordPress login section.

Congrats!
How to migrate WordPress to AWS Lightsail: Create DNS Zone
Please check this blog to know more about how to migrate a WordPress Site using plugins? Start creating backup your WordPress site and upload the same into the AWS site.
We’ve almost completed the major parts. We’ll move towards the last part. The last part is to change the domain DNS zone setting.
Let’s start creating DNS zone and add our new IP address to the domain DNS setting and change the Name server. It’ll take 24-48 hours of time to complete the redirection process.
Go to the WordPress Instance page. Click on Networking.
Click on create DNS zone

Enter your domain URL and tap on Create DNS zone.

In this case, I got all the Name servers list to add it to my domain DNS zone.

Copy all these IP Addresses to the Note pad and go to the Domain section. In my case, I have purchased the domain from Godaddy. So let’s go to Godaddy Domain DNS.
Click to change “Nameservers”

Click on Enter my own name servers (advanced)

Add the 4 Name servers to this area. Click Save.

All the process has been completed and you are waiting for 24 hours to redirect the domain.
