Apple Announced Self Service Repair Program for iPhone, Mac

0
Apple customers can buy parts to self-repair iPhone 12, iPhone 13, and M1-powered Mac machines.

For the first time Apple has announced self service program for the customers. On Wednesday, Apple said it will start selling the spare parts and tools to the general public to perform their own repairs on some of the selected iPhone models and Mac. In 2019, Apple started a program where independent repair shops can buy its parts, tools, and manuals. Apple said there are now 2,800 independent shops in its program in addition to its 5,000 directly authorized repair providers.

Under this program, Apple users will be able to buy those parts directly from Apple and perform their own repair by referring the manual. Apple has said, the online store will start with 200 parts and tools aimed to fix the most common issues like Battery, Screen and Cameras on iPhone 12 and 13 models. Gradually the program will extend to MAC computers that use Apple’s new M1 chip. Customers can avail discount by returning the used parts to Apple after the repair.

This program will start in USA next year and they will expand to more countries in later 2022.
